Preparations for the Szczecin Christmas Market
Marta Kufel
Wooden houses are ready. On Wednesday, the sale of Christmas offers on the Szczecin Christmas Market will start.
There are two days left before the event starts. December 9 at 12:00 p.m., wooden houses will be opened on Plac Adamowicza (Adamowicz Square) and Plac Lotników (Lotników Square). The Szczecin Christmas Market is a substitute for the traditional Christmas Market and is a tribute to local entrepreneurs. Szczecin-based companies from the catering as well as trade and service industries will operate on two squares in 40 houses.
Exhibitors do not bear the costs associated with renting the stands, they only pay for electricity. This is another form of assistance provided by the City to entrepreneurs who are struggling to stay on the market due to the pandemic. We will not find any tables or eating places on the premises of the Szczecin Christmas Market. All food products will be available for purchase and to take-away.
Decorations and music will contribute to the festive atmosphere. This year, due to the pandemic, we will not organize meetings with Santa, workshops and animations. Both on Plac Adamowicza (Adamowicz Square) and Plac Lotników (Lotników Square), visitors will have disinfectors and disposable gloves at their disposal.
We should also remember to keep social distance when shopping and to wear masks obligatorily.
Stand opening hours: Monday - Thursday 12:00 – 20:00; Friday 12:00 – 21:00; Saturday - Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
If we do not find something at the stationary Market, we can always look for it on the virtual Christmas Market. On the website https://jarmark.szczecin.eu/ (https://market.szczecin.eu/) we will find over 100 exhibitors with Christmas offers.
