By the end of November, our City will have had planted 590 more trees and 23,263 more shrubs. The project also covers their maintenance for a year.
Planting has already begun. You can see landscape companies working e.g. in the Podzamcze district. Frequently destroyed by cars driving through, the lawn near Nowy Rynek will be transformed into a flower bed with roses.
"There will be 600 roses planted there, with 100 more along Kuśnierska St, and some 500 more along Grodzka St.," says Andrzej Kus, City Spokesman for public services and environmental protection. "We will also plant 500 Euonymus japonicus plants there. And meadowsweets will be planted on Giedroycia Roundabout, along Mieszka I St., and at Guido Recka Square.
Trees, including birch, beech, hornbeam, mountain ash, ash, and horse chestnut, will be planted, e.g., between Europejska St. and Słowińców Square (100), along Kasjopei St. (45), Hoża St. (40), Ściegiennego St. (30), Mickiewicza St. (25), Floriana Szarego St. (20), Romera St. (30), and Rydla St. (30).
The value of the project is PLN 896,400.
Zakład Usług Komunalnych is yet to finalize the tendering procedure for the new plantings. Tenders are now being analysed. As a result of the project, Szczecin will have 640 more trees.
