Family 500 Plus Programme: significant changes
Marta Kufel

Parents receiving Family 500 Plus Programme benefits will be required to renew their applications already from the beginning of February, not in the summer, as has been the case so far.
Starting from 1 February, all parents will have an opportunity to submit their applications online. Two months later, from 1 April, applications will be received also in the traditional form.
Electronic applications can be submitted via electronic banking systems, the ePUAP platform, the emp@tia system and PUE ZUS.
Physical applications will be accepted at the head office of the Szczecin Benefit Centre at 12 Kadłubka Street and at its branch in Prawobrzeże at 39/40 Rydla Street.
During this time of the coronavirus pandemic, we encourage everyone to send their documents electronically. This is the safest and also the fastest way to apply for an extension of benefit payments.
The funds from the Programme are granted for each child, the parents' income situation is not examined, and therefore only the necessary personal data are provided in the applications.
All those who submit their documents by 30 April will have their payments continued and receive the money until 30 June.
For applications made after this time, the payment will be made within two months of the date of application at the latest. Specific time limits for the payment are as follows:
- Applications submitted by 30 April 2021 - payment by 30 June 2021
- Applications submitted from 1 to 31 May 2021 - payment by 31 July 2021
- Applications submitted from 1 to 30 June 2021 - payment by 31 August 2021
- Applications submitted from 1 to 31 July 2021 - payment by 30 September 2021
- Applications submitted from 1 to 31 August 2021 - payment by 30 October 2021
The benefits in this new period will be granted from 1 June 2021 to 31 May 2022.
At the moment, 41,000 families in Szczecin receive the benefit, which amounts to PLN 31.1 million a month.
