17th St James’ Fair
Katarzyna Jackowska

Plac Katedralny/Plac Orła Białego
From Thursday to Sunday, exhibitors from Poland and abroad will gather by St James’ Cathedral and in Orła Białego Square, presenting handicrafts, food products, and meat, dairy and vegetable specialities.
The fair is designed with families in mind, with games, competitions and attractions for children and adults, including live music, shows and tournaments. On 25 July at 6.00 p.m., a parish indulgence Mass will be held in the Cathedral. The fair refers to an old Polish tradition in which, after religious celebrations, pilgrimage and Mass, visitors could enjoy a colourful market and share a meal together.
The patron of the event is St James, who has watched over the cathedral hill for eight centuries.
