The musical Metro celebrates its 35th anniversary

The legendary musical Metro stands as the flagship production of the Buffo Studio’s repertoire.
On stage, audiences witness passion and devotion, music and dance on a scale unlike anything previously seen in Polish theatre. It’s a world of love, madness and youth, where the boundaries between theatre and reality begin to blur. The story spills beyond the foyer, and time itself becomes a pure function of the imagination.
Metro unfolds somewhere between fiction and reality. Street musicians, singers and dancers perform a makeshift play for commuters on underground platforms. Its creator and driving force is Jan, for whom the metro is both a home and a way of life. The performance becomes an overnight sensation, and the young artists are soon offered contracts at a commercial theatre.
This is a story of dreams and disillusionment, of passion and betrayal, of youthful ideals tested by the lure of money and, above all, a timeless tale of romantic love.
