Maya the Bee

Katarzyna Jackowska

The Ducal Castle in Szczecin
The theatre adaptation of Waldemar Bonsels' book Maya the Bee and Her Adventures tells the story of a clever and curious bee. On her journeys, Maya discovers the extraordinary world around her, and through her bravery, kindness, and determination, she makes new friends along the way.
This is a tale of self-discovery and coming of age, about finding one’s way back home and learning to understand others. But above all, it is a story about responsibility.
Will Maya find her way back to her hive? How much responsibility can a small bee hold for her entire bee family, known as a hive? And are we humans responsible for the insects we share the Earth with? What would happen to us if there were no bees among us?
