Unleashed Cooperation "Trust" | Szczecin Jazz 2025

Katarzyna Jackowska

Jazzment, ul. Kurkowa 4/1
The Unleashed Cooperation quintet from Poznań has been exploring various forms of musical expression for years.
Their work is based on openness to genre, as well as freedom and unfettered musical expression. In their compositions, one can find inspiration from both contemporary classical and folk music, all set on a solid jazz foundation. The group was formed by long-time friends – saxophonist Krzysztof Kuśmierek and pianist Patryk Matwiejczuk. To date, they have performed at prestigious festivals such as Szczecin Jazz and the Hanseatic Jazz Festival, winning acclaim from audiences and critics alike. Their latest album, Trust, is the next stage of their musical explorations, combining improvisation, jazz, ethnic, and contemporary music. The quintet draws inspiration from the recordings of masters such as Tomasz Stańko and Krzysztof Komeda, while giving their compositions a modern, fresh sound. A special role on the album is played by the presence of Anna Gadt, a leading Polish jazz vocalist and improviser, whose interpretations add a new dimension to the songs. On the Jazzment Klub stage, we will hear the band's own compositions, as well as improvised miniatures inspired by Polish traditional music, the works of Witold Lutosławski, and even elements of electronic music. Unleashed Cooperation are spiritual heirs to the great jazz masters, and their concert is an event that will long be remembered by every listener.
