Shared Sounds: Maritime University Choir in Szczecin & Happysad Project
Katarzyna Jackowska

Szczecin Philharmonic
This year’s edition of Shared Sounds brings together the Maritime University Choir in Szczecin and Happysad, one of the most recognisable bands on the Polish rock scene.
During the concert, the band’s best-known songs will be performed in brand-new arrangements prepared especially for this event. Rock energy will meet the power of choral harmonies, revealing familiar songs in a completely new sound.
Shared Sounds is an original project by Professor Sylwia Fabiańczyk-Makuch and has been part of Szczecin’s major music calendar for 13 years. Each edition creates a unique meeting of artistic worlds that usually exist separately.
Over the past 12 editions, Shared Sounds has welcomed leading figures of the Polish music scene, including Kayah, Kuba Badach, Grzegorz Turnau, Leszek Możdżer, Skubas, Smolik, Dorota Miśkiewicz and Artur Andrus, as well as bands and ensembles such as Ørganek, Voo Voo, Fisz Emade Tworzywo, Mikromusic, Kroke and Grupa MoCarta.
Each collaboration has shown that the most interesting musical stories emerge where different genres, experiences and artistic personalities meet.
