Music at the Start of Summer

Katarzyna Jackowska

Gorkow
Marking the arrival of summer, a special open-air concert experience awaits just 25 kilometres west of Szczecin, in the picturesque village of Gorkow. Hosted by the Foundation for the Academy of Early Music and the Grenzland Association, this musical journey begins with a scenic walk through the Randow Valley, ending in the village’s historic church (Dorfkirche).
There, Consortium Sedinum will perform works from the 17th and 18th centuries on period instruments: historical flutes, baroque strings and harpsichord. After the concert, guests are invited to the garden of the old tavern to celebrate the season with conversation, nature and the sunset.
This event is part of the 2025 edition of the cross-border concert series Early Music in Pomerania / Alte Musik in Pommern, made possible with support from the Small Project Fund under the Interreg VI A Cooperation Programme Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/Brandenburg/Poland 2021–2027, specifically within the priority area 4.6: Culture and Sustainable Tourism.
