Ensemble del Passato specialises in reconstructing and performing music from the early Baroque period. Its sound is built around the bass and harmony of large lutes, including the chitarrone and theorbo, played by Henryk Kasperczak. Against this rich instrumental background, soprano Anna Budzyńska presents and ornaments the melodies, entering into dialogue with Maciej Kończak’s improvisations on historical guitars.
The concert will explore the wide range of colours, rhythms and emotions found in music from across Europe – from the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth to England, France, Spain and Italy.
Expect moments of melancholy and reflection, as well as plenty of energy, movement and joy.
