Jazz at the Villa: Victoria at the Lentz Villa

The Szczecin audience is invited to experience a unique concert presenting music from the latest album Victoria, released by Warner Music. The evening’s programme will feature vibrant Spanish and Latin American sounds, as well as the intriguing Suite in the Old Style by Alfred Schnittke.

The album was recorded in the hauntingly atmospheric ruins of the Victoria Theatre in Gliwice—a space imbued with mystery, echoes of past grandeur, and reflections on the future. As the artists themselves note:
"This music defies simple description. Some threads lead to the concert hall, others to Argentine cafés, and still others to the contemporary world. It transcends genres, blending elements of tango, jazz, early music, contemporary classical, and electronics."

This rich and distinctive sound defines Victoria, weaving a compelling musical narrative from the works of composers across eras and continents—cohesive, moving, and utterly absorbing, like any well-told story.

Łukasz Kuropaczewski is one of Poland’s few classical musicians to have performed at iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Festival Hall in London, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. He is currently a professor at music academies in Graz and Poznań.

Maciej Frąckiewicz is a true artistic force, performing both early and contemporary music with equal finesse. A laureate of the 2013 Polityka Passport Award, he is also the youngest accordion professor in Germany, leading a class at the university in Nuremberg.

Patryk Zakrzewski is a multi-percussionist and session musician, a graduate of the Academy of Music in Katowice. His collaborations span genres, from popular artists such as Andrzej Piaseczny, Urszula Dudziak, and Mika Urbaniak, to classical music and contemporary premieres, including at the Warsaw Autumn Festival.

This concert, uniting three extraordinary artists, promises to satisfy even the most discerning of Szczecin’s music lovers.
