Known as the voice of Smokie in the 1970s, Chris Norman launched a hugely successful solo career in 1986. His debut single “Midnight Lady” became a major hit across Europe, topping the German charts for six consecutive weeks.
To date, Chris has released 21 hit singles and around 22 albums, selling over 20 million records worldwide. He grew up in a show-business family with roots reaching back two generations — his grandparents toured England during WWI, his mother was a dancer, and his father performed across Europe in the comedy-dance act The Four Jokers, including appearances at the Royal Variety Performance.
Chris received his first guitar at the age of seven, inspired early on by Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Buddy Holly and Lonnie Donegan. Later, The Beatles and Bob Dylan would profoundly shape his musical style.
