2nd Prize Winner of the 19th Chopin Competition

In a solo recital, we will hear one of the youngest stars of this year’s Chopin Competition, hailed by the audience as the “piano princess” – Tianyao Lyu, winner of the 4th Prize and the special prize of the National Philharmonic for the best performance of a concerto. Born in 2008, the pianist studies in Poznań under Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń, and the list of her competition achievements is growing at an impressive pace: from awards in Ettlingen to the Grand Prix in Szafarnia. She has already performed with ensembles from Europe and Asia, and her performances have been applauded in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing.

Tianyao Lyu will take the stage to present, this time in a solo recital, selected works by Frédéric Chopin, whose interpretations have been met with such great acclaim that they will surely open the doors to the most prestigious concert halls and recording studios in the world.
