Szczecin Classic 2026
Katarzyna Jackowska

Szczecin Classic is the largest classical music festival in Western Pomerania and, since 2019, has steadily established itself as one of the region’s most important cultural events. The theme of this edition refers to the idea of music as a timeless art form – ever-present, enduring, and transcending the boundaries of eras, styles and aesthetics.
A permanent and highly significant element of the festival is its educational programme, delivered through the Szczecin Classic Academy, which each year attracts young musicians from Poland, Germany, Malta, Portugal and other European countries.
In 2026, the festival will be enriched by the second edition of its Composers’ Symposium, aimed at young creators interested in contemporary music and in developing their own artistic language. The symposium will be led by distinguished composers Karl Fiorini and Ignacy Zalewski, in collaboration with the renowned string ensemble Neuma Quartet. Participants will take part in intensive workshops, developing their own string quartet compositions through daily individual and group consultations. Each participant will have the opportunity to discuss their techniques and ideas with experienced composers and performing musicians alike.
The symposium will culminate in a composers’ concert, during which selected works will be performed in public by the festival’s resident ensemble.
The festival is organised by the Baltic Neopolis Orchestra Association.
