Coal now available in all points of sale
Marta Kufel
Today two further companies have begun the sale of imported coal on preferential terms to eligible Szczecin residents.
The launch of sales was dependent on the submission of a coal origin certificate by Węglokoks, a state-owned company. All four entities conduct sale operations at the moment:
- Firma Handlowo-Usługowa Jarosław Kolski (Trade & Service Company Jarosław Kolski), ul. Świerczewska 5, Szczecin, Phone: 517 596 546;
- Przedsiębiorstwo Handlowe Węglobud S.A. (Trade Company Węglobud S.A.) Heating fuel depot, ul. Jesienna 16, Szczecin, Phone: 91 462 95 28;
- Andrzej Pawełczyk, heating fuel depot, ul. Młyńska 1A, Przęsocin, Phone: 509 395 455;
- Passa Michał Karaś, ul. Warcisława I 4B, Szczecin, Phone: 91 462 43 99;
The coal price in the above depots is PLN 2000 per tonne (under the Act, the price does not include transportation). The sale is effected on the basis of certificates issued by the City Office. Their holders are entitled to a one-off purchase of 1.5 tonne of coal by 31 December 2022.
Pursuant to the Act of 27 October 2022 on the Preferential Purchase of Solid Fuel for Households (Journal of Laws of 2022, Item 2236), coal may be purchased on preferential terms by households which:
- have been paid coal allowance;
- have submitted an application for payment of coal allowance and that application has been granted by the Szczecin Benefit Centre;
- have not submitted an application for payment of coal allowance but which meet the eligibility conditions described in the Coal Allowance Act of 5 August 2022.
Applications for coal certificates will be accepted at the Department of Environmental Protection, room 360 (3rd floor, left wing, pl. Armii Krajowej 1) and at the Szczecin City Office Branch in the Prawobrzeże District, ul. Rydla 39-40, stand 9.
Szczecin residents who have previously applied for coal allowance at the Szczecin Benefit Centre and whose application was approved will receive their preferential coal purchase certificates ”on the spot”. Other applicants will receive their certificates within 14 days.
The application for a coal certificate may also be sent by post to the following address: Urząd Miasta Szczecin – Wydział Ochrony Środowiska, pl. Armii Krajowej 1, 70-456 Szczecin.
